Fastfem's Start

In the years I began riding over 15 years ago it began; the experience gained is grand.  Experiences from sport to touring, sales and rentals, I've done it all.    Lots of rides and promotions have made me realize how the biker community can stick together or hate each other.  From the Euro group coming to troll down Route 66 on to the over zealous hard core bikers that look for the rally every year.  The demeanor of each individual on their two wheels is such a wide spectrum of cultural differences yet so close to the same ending.  The love of the open road.
From early family, for me anyway, we started on Vespa's, Lambretta and anything else that could be found on the Swiss soil. In my years on the road I have met many "single serving" friends.  Friends you meet on the road and stay friends with for life. I could never fathom the people my Grandfather or father has met through the heritage of racing, riding and touring around the world. Julius Baur, my Grandfather, came over in his early 20's and kept up his riding and racing name until he was 78 years old.  You name it, he has been on it, and still to this day does restoration work.  In every way this girl wants to be like that man.  Carrying on the family name in the motorcycle world.

The perks of being female in the mans world makes it hard to accomplish many of the duties I want to keep promoting and performing for the sake of motorcycles.  Things have changed in centuries of riding for women, but the stigma is still hanging around, and we still work hard for being our own rider into the wind.  A female on a motorcycle is still seen as a sex symbol, hard ass or seen as a same sex relations chick.  It's so not the case these days, or any. The freedom of glancing over at our friends or partner and thinking "THIS IS THE LIFE, LETS RACE", is everything to us.

Being in the industry for so many years on and off has given me so much knowledge I began sharing on my own Facebook  page called "Detroit's Fastfem".  Fastfem is my AKA, although a great customer started calling me the "Moto Sensei" because I give so much great experience and knowledge I've gained.  The modeling groove this girl fell into has helped me so much become a better advocate of product knowledge of the things I like and that fit women well also.  Many companies tend to make things that fit the smaller girls that ride, not the women that live and breath two wheels.
